Questions & answers
Do I need to create an account?
No. HomeProof has no accounts, no sign-up, and no servers. You open the app and start adding items immediately. Nothing leaves your device.
What happens if I lose my phone?
HomeProof includes encrypted backup and restore. You can export a .homeproof backup file (AES-256 encrypted with your own passphrase) and save it anywhere: iCloud Drive, Google Drive, email to yourself, or USB. Restore it on your new phone and everything comes back.
Is my data safe?
Your inventory is stored in an encrypted local database on your device. Serial numbers are hidden until you tap to reveal them. You can lock the app with Face ID, Touch ID, or a PIN. On Android, screenshots are blocked inside the app. Your data never touches our servers (we don't have any).
Will insurers accept the PDF reports?
HomeProof generates professionally structured PDF reports designed to support insurance claims. They include item photos, serial numbers, estimated values, and receipt evidence. However, every insurer is different, so always contact your insurer for their specific requirements. HomeProof is a documentation tool, not a substitute for professional insurance advice.
What does the free version include?

Which devices does it work on?

What is the underinsurance checker?
If you enter your contents cover amount (from your insurance policy), HomeProof will compare it to your total estimated inventory value and warn you if you appear to be underinsured by 15% or more. This is an estimate only; always check your actual policy documents.
Does HomeProof work without Wi-Fi?
Yes, completely. Every feature works offline. The app never requires an internet connection. You could use it in a remote cabin with no signal and it would work exactly the same.
